Responsibilities:
The time commitment is minimal as the Medical Director's primary role is to be available,
most often via telephone, to consult with our Medspa clinical professionals.
Assures proper training, supervision and delegation of professional services for any
Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Licensed Nurses involved in the medspa
facility, in accordance with any applicable federal and/or state rules and regulations.
Reviews, edits, approves and monitors standardized procedures and protocols to be used in
the medspa facility.
Is available to discuss patient assessments and exams and/or concerns regarding treatment
or outcomes.
Requirements:
Licensed MD or DO.
Knowledge of laser and light-based technology, injectibles, medical-grade skincare
products as it relates to the services provided in the facility; Knowledge of local, state and
federal regulations including, but not limited to, OSHA, HIPPA, laser safety, infection
prevention and control; Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with
objectives with medical supervision provided by Medical Director; Ability to handle and
resolve patient-care related incidents; Previous experience in above non-surgical aesthetic
procedures preferred.

Practice Opportunity: Our Family Practitioner (D.O). has practiced at our clinic for 15
years as a Board Certified Family Practitioner (FP), and has recently accepted an
appointment as medical Director at this clinic's parent company - a Blue Cross licensee.
His last clinic day will be August 31, 2005. He has a full practice, averaging 30+ patients
per day. He shares call (1 in 7) with other community FP's and also attends to patients at
Wilcox Memorial Hospital, which is located a couple blocks from our clinic. FP's do not
practice Obstetrics at this clinic.
OUR CLINIC is part of a Hawaii Blue Cross/Blue Shield licensee, a non-profit subsidiary.
The clinic is designed for 4 primary care physicians, however there are currently only three
full time physicians (2 FP and 1 Internal Med). There are lab and x-ray facilities within the
clinic.
Physicians are employed by the Blue Cross Hawaii licensee, and compensation is based on
a percentage of production, with a minimum guarantee in the first two years. The following is
a brief summary of the Salary & Benefits:
Minimum Salary Guarantee: $120,000 per year for the first two years, subject to fulfilling a
minimum two-year contract and maintaining a minimum of 35 hours/week in the clinic.
Production Incentive factor: 40% of receipts. Based on current FP charging patterns and
reimbursement levels. Thirty (30) patients per day would realize a physician income level of
$165,000/year, assuming 230 clinic days/year. Physician income would exceed the
minimum guarantee at around 22 patients per day.
Continuing Medical Education (CME): After completion of the first year, physician accrues
two weeks of CME and then accrues 7 hours per month for each month thereafter.
Physician also accrues $3,500 per year in CME funds upon completion of each year.
Moving Allowance: The Blue Cross licensee will reimburse physician for actual moving
expenses, not to exceed a total of $10,000. A portion of the allowance must be repaid if
physician leaves prior to completion of the two year contract.
